Chinsea Linda Lee — known to the world as Shenseea (often written Shensea) — is more than a singer. She is a powerhouse performer, lyrical force, and one of the most exciting artists breaking through on the world stage right now. Born October 1, 1996, in Mandeville, Jamaica, she has risen from local dancehall favourite to Grammy-nominated, chart-topping global star — blending dancehall, pop, R&B,
and hip-hop into a sound that feels both authentically Caribbean and universally relatable. This is her story.
🛤️ From Jamaica to the World: Her Journey
Shenseea first caught the public eye around 2016–2017, when her sharp flow, magnetic stage presence, and unforgettable voice turned heads across the dancehall scene. Her early collaboration “Loodi” with Vybz Kartel became an instant Caribbean anthem, putting her on the map overnight.
She kept the momentum building, and in 2019 everything changed. The release of “Blessed” ft. Tyga exploded worldwide —
hundreds of millions of streams, global radio play, and an introduction to mainstream audiences that few Caribbean artists have ever achieved so fast.
- 2021: Featured on Kanye West’s DONDA on the track Pure Souls with Roddy Ricch — earning a Grammy nomination for Album of the Year.
- 2022: Released her debut album Alpha, landing straight at #2 on the Billboard Reggae Albums Chart and proving she was here to stay.
- 2024: Sophomore album Never Gets Late Here earned a nomination for Best Reggae Album at the Grammys.
- July 2026: Made history — became the first Jamaican female artist to hit #1 on Billboard Latin Airplay, alongside Daddy Yankee with their global hit Echo (FIFA World Cup 2026).
