VIP Boogie
VIP Boogie’s love affair with music began at the age of 14, inspired by timeless classics like Chaka Khan’s "Ain’t Nobody," Fern Kinney’s "Together We Are Beautiful," and Christopher Cross’s "The Best That You Can Do" from the film Arthur. These soulful, emotionally rich sounds laid the foundation for what would become a lifelong journey into music. In his early twenties, he became an integral part of the UK’s underground soul and groove scene. VIP Boogie was a member of influential collectives including Street Sounds, Fiesta Clairvoyance, Basic Instinct, and Special Touch. He also formed a dynamic duo with Martyn Wynter (formerly known as Shoedoctor & Boogie Boy), showcasing a deep synergy rooted in soul and rhythm. His musical reach extended further through residencies and appearances on respected platforms such as Paradise Radio, Supreme Radio, and Our Music Radio, where he continued to champion the rare groove and neo-soul sounds he’s best known for. A versatile talent, VIP Boogie is not just a DJ but also a seasoned music producer and remixer. He’s behind standout remixes like "The Street Remix" of "Intro – First Time"—a cult classic and a heads-only favourite within soul circles. A defining highlight in his career came when he was invited to DJ at the royal wedding reception of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, sharing the decks with Idris Elba (A close friend)—an unforgettable moment that cemented his reputation among the elite in the soul music scene. Now rebranded as VIP Boogie from the age of 50—shedding the "boy" moniker he once performed under—his new name was fittingly gifted to him by none other than Rihanna. VIP Boogie’s signature sound blends rare groove, ’90s slow jams, ’80s soul, and smooth neo-soul—delivering sets that are nostalgic, deeply soulful, and always ahead of the curve.
